With roughly 17 years in renovation, construction and restoration, Christopher witnessed firsthand the consequences of building with toxic materials. Families moving into newly renovated homes only to develop respiratory issues. Children breathing air contaminated by formaldehyde, VOCs, and mold hidden behind freshly painted walls.
He knew there had to be a better way.
That conviction led to the founding of Mr Hemp House® — a company focused on hemp-based building materials selected for low off-gassing, moisture regulation and favorable fire behavior in tested assemblies. Mr Hemp House® works with a range of healthier materials, not hemp alone. The flagship material, GaiaCrete™, is a hemp-lime composite developed over years of testing and job-site iteration, designed around thermal performance, moisture regulation and fire behavior in breathable wall assemblies.
